How spiritual is modeling? Or creative transformation.
If approached mindfully and with open awareness, modeling and model photography in general can be a very spiritually developing experience for the model and the photographer alike.
The photographer creates the original intent of the idea, the model helps to grow and nourish it. And through open communication and exchange of energies, both the model and the photographer work through their boundaries and limitations in order to meet each other at the magical place where the concept can come to life.
The inner philosophy of a creative process, is the open collaboration between the model with her open mind, a skill of physical and emotional transformation and fine sensitivity towards the creative intent of the photographer who is able to transmit the mood and the feeling to the selected model and to adapt his creative expression in order to fit her abilities and personality, while the model is attuned in her open awareness to this information, being able to interpret it in the most natural and harmonious way and take it to the next level of manifestation.
An artistic process like that requires sensitive open communication, flexibility of thought and expression, shedding of ego and self-centeredness, overcoming of personal limitations and discomforts, development of compassion and understanding of each other’s needs, strengths and weaknesses and overcoming the fear of the unknown unexplored creativity.
And, even more so, when it comes to sensual, artistic nude and erotic photography, where in addition to the aspects mentioned above, both the model and the photographer are overcoming their personal preconceptions, shyness and judgements related to nudity and sexuality, which are replaced by openness, surrender, dynamic harmony and complete trust. Isn’t that the pinnacle of the spiritual transformation?
To add to that, people who later admire an artwork created in such a manner, will feel and greatly benefit from the energy that was put into the creative process. The power of such photography is eternal and cannot be underestimated. The key is to let go of self-interests and allow the transformation to happen.
